Texas Cell Net, as John mentions above, is a joke. I had dial up for 10 years.I really thought it sucked, until I got Texas Cell Net. Here is the truth about TCN.
1) Internet is up probably about 60% of the time
2) TCN will NOT return your phone calls
3) TCN are the RUDEST people I have found. They make the customer pay for one months worth of service $53, then won’t “pro-rate” everyone’s monthly bill,when TCN is only providing 60% of what they are supposed to.
4) TCN ALWAYS has the same excuse and instead of being like people ought to be and answer the phone when customers want answers, they simply put on this recording “We are experiencing technical difficulities.Please check your connection periodically,as there is no time frame as to when the internet will be back on”. What a crook o’ crap.

Stand up and be a man, mister owner of the company. Instead of pockleting all those millions, SPEND some of it on AMERICAN made servers that won’t break down on a daily basis. Grab your nads and ANSWER THE PHONE like a man, instead of hiding behind a answering machine.
If I can ever find a more reliable ISP, I will use it and I will make sure I let everyone I know that uses TCN, to get off TCN and get on the more reliable provider, that actually cares about it’s customers, instead of the bottom line only. I rate TCN as the most pathetic company I have ever used. No stars, thumbs down. Use them only as a last resort

Texas Cellnet service is very, very unreliable. You will time out a lot and they do nothing about it — you basically pay for ‘part time’ internet, and half the time is not even as reliable as dial up. They are very polite but their service is bad bad bad.

Thanks for stopping by! None of the providers I have listed are involved with running or maintaining the site so they likely won’t see your request to call them. However you can contact any provider from their web site that is prominently linked from the posts on my site. If you can let me know where you are approximately I can point you in the right direction!

Here where I am if I was getting 2MB down and 243k up I would be pretty happy in general. That is considered great broadband speed here in most parts of the States. You need to contact Tiscali first if you paid for higher speeds than that. Here in East Texas I was paying $25 a month for 3mb down max and 512k up Guarantee was at 1.5k and 256 though and my speeds were generally around 2Mbs:

Does anyone know how I can tell if my slow broadband connection is down to my pc or my broadband provider (Tiscali)? I ran a speed test here http://www.broadband-expert.co.uk/broadband/speedtest/ and it tells me I have a download speed of 2.06Mbs and an upload speed of 243 Kbps. My laptop a dell Inspiron 8600, is about 3-4 years old some and I have Windows and is running Windows 2000.

Any or advice help would be greatly appreciated!
